    Systematically transfer principles, concepts and best practices of learning and instruction for designing and developing materials and activities. Re-design existing content and develop new content by analyzing the problem, designing to specific needs, developing courseware, implementing the solution, and performing evaluations throughout the process. Design and develop learning solutions for instructor led, web based, performance-support, distributed learning, or any blend of these delivery methods.

    Essential functions

    • Develop storyboard and reshape content and assessment for digital purposes
    • Align and control content production processes with different teams and optimize workflows
    • Interact with subject matter experts and the team, to effectively provide different perspectives, provide recommendations and share expertise
    • Develop subject-matter understanding through materials provided and perform individual research/collaboration with course/content stakeholders 
    • Communicate processes and procedures to faculty as they begin to leverage instructional technologies within curriculum
    • Author and edit content using different instructional design and authoring tools
    • Monitor progress on many courses and manage to deadlines; ensure each one of them is of the highest quality
    • Receive and apply constructive feedback
    •  Present, share and disseminate work done at AO NA to build awareness, promote, and engage the community

    Additional Job Functions

    • Work on AO Milestones which is a longitudinal educational program using online learning and hands-on simulation targeted to the educational pathway for residents in orthopedics, educating and assessing all aspects needed over a multi-year learning experience with a global scope and the aim of certifying performance of individuals
    • Align and control content production processes with different teams and optimize workflows if necessary


    • ·         Ability to develop a basic subject-matter understanding through materials provided and ability to perform individual research/collaboration with course/content stakeholder.
    • ·         Ability to effectively communicate processes and procedures to faculty as they begin to leverage instructional technologies within curriculum
    • Demonstrated writing, editing, proofreading, and formatting of customer-ready materials
    • Strong oral and written communications skills.
    • Strong consulting and interpersonal skills; able to work in a team environment.
    • Strong presentation skills and ability to work with senior leadership
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
    • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and implement instructional materials and solutions following defined processes to include structured courseware, job aids, and informal learning content
    • Demonstrated experience authoring and editing content using Articulate Storyline,  Adobe Creative Suite Design, and other related applications
    • Knowledge of responsive and human centered design principles and their application.
    • Experience and/or familiarity with e-Learning standards, to include SCORM and Section 508 requirements, web usability standards and practices, and evaluation models

    Work environment

    The work environment is standard indoor office environment.

    Physical demands

    Sitting, standing, keyboarding, occasional lifting of 10-15 lbs.

    Travel required

    The travel for work environment is standard airline travel with hotel/convention center indoor environment.

    Required education and experience

    ·   BA or BS. in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education, Distance Learning, or Human Performance Technology

    ·   Minimum of five years’ experience in an educational, corporate training, or professional services environment, with experience developing and using e-learning and multimedia technologies.

    ·   Experience in the design, development, and evaluation of course materials for classroom and e-Learning environments

    ·   Experience in adult learning theory and learner-centered pedagogy

    ·         Moderate travel including possibility of international travel required, including weekends   as course needs dictate
