Instructional Designer

    Merakey is looking for a talented individual to design and develop training solutions using instructional design best practices that support multiple learning styles.  The Instructional Designer will partner with Subject Matter Experts to identify appropriate learning solutions for virtual and classroom delivery.  They will update current training materials, as well as develop both content and process handouts.

    General Responsibilities

    • Design and develop interactive, engaging, and effective e-learning programs.
    • Design and develop robust, innovative, instructor-led live and virtual training.
    • Manage all aspects of production from initial planning to completion including: storyboarding, scriptwriting, design, recording and editing voiceover, and troubleshooting.
    • Design and write learning support tools such as, PowerPoint presentations, facilitator guides, participant guides, quick reference guides, and job aids.
    • Consult with Subject Matter Experts to uncover business needs, understand content complexities, develop appropriate learning objectives, and determine approaches for content creation
    • Design and facilitate Train the Trainer sessions.
    • Review/revise training materials created by others for formatting, flow, and educational effectiveness.
    • Regularly communicate with team members to define deliverables, discuss project status, design outlines, create work plans, and review timelines.
    • Develop templates and forms to support process flow and procedure when required.
    • Adhere to principles of Instructional System Design (ADDIE model or other accepted system design approach) in an agile development model.
    • Design and interpret a variety of needs analysis; use front-end analyses including needs assessment, task analysis, content analysis, learner characteristic assessment, environmental review, and instructional analysis.
    • Work closely with the LMS Administrator to distribute content via Cornerstone LMS.


    • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, or related.
    • The ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Experience either through practice or education in designing and developing adult learning materials.
    • Basic knowledge of technical abilities utilizing content creation applications like Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Camtasia, InDesign, Vyond Studio, Zoom, and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
