    Description:

I help audiences pause and think about the way they lead, the way they connect, and the way they can impact their world. I create moments that empower teams and individuals to realize they are the only thing standing in the way between the results they want and the results they're currently seeing. I am an award-winning, recognized professional speaker with a background in stand-up and improv comedy. I deliver powerful and hysterical keynotes and workshops that will transform lives.

I work with corporations, colleges, associations, and individuals with a focus on authentic leadership. There power in talking about imperfection, it has proven to increase trust, innovation and morale in teams. By infusing my thought-provoking talks with comedy and self-awareness, my audiences stay engaged from beginning to end.

My first book, Leading Imperfectly: The value of being authentic for leaders, professionals, and human beings discusses the concepts of how authentic leadership and vulnerability are the driving forces behind conversations about communication, rapport building, engagement, increased productivity, retention, promoting memorability, life balance, feedback, and more.

As far as how I got here, my parents will tell you that I captured the attention of my first audience at a very early age and never turned back. They will also tell you that I cost them way too much money, but that is beside the point. I started facilitating leadership presentations and speeches in 2002 for my peers at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), Clemson University, and regional conferences. In 2009 after I presented a workshop, someone came up to me and asked me how much I charged for my speaking services. I told them they could buy me lunch and then my paid speaking career was off to the races! Becoming a Professional Speaker has allowed me to do the two things I love most: making people think and making people laugh.

Outside of speaking to companies and colleges, I host my own events to help individuals own where they are in their lives, recognize their patterns, and take necessary steps to live more purposeful lives. I am also Personal Coach. I work with my clients to help them get out of their own way and hold them accountable to the lives they say they want to live. I coach individuals on finding and following their passion, work-life balance, leadership development, speaking skills.

Gentle Persuasion: Understanding the power of the written word in shaping our opinions and beliefs

There's plenty of talk in social media and news about how we are influenced. The equivalent of modern-day Einstein's are hired to “analyze,” “machine learn,” and “AI” our every click of the mouse!!! BUT...have you ever wondered about the power of the words read about work, leadership, or career mobility? Well, I have dedicated more than 15 years to understanding just that!

While in my undergrad, I became obsessed with how writing styles in popular magazines, scholarly journals, and academic publications were guiding my perception and opinion as a reader. I became intrigued by the psychological, social, and neurological aspects of leadership and took that passion into my research on how language is used in leadership studies.

Words, sentences, paragraphs…oh, my! I had no idea what an eye-opening journey I would take or the power of language to shape opinions, influence beliefs, or the strategies to avoid unintentionally becoming a negative self-fulfilling prophecy! My fourth-grade teacher, Miss McCormick, must be relieved that someone was kind of paying attention in her language arts class!!!

Please join me in my presentation, Gentle Persuasion: Understanding the power of the written word in shaping our opinions and beliefs, where I will share eye-opening, and hopefully entertaining, information about how we communicate, unintentionally assert our opinions, and strategies to question our beliefs.

The panel will be discussing Best Practices for Neuro Diverse Hiring. They will elaborate on how small and large companies or small and large HR departments can enable a program for neurodiverse employees. In addition, they will discuss the challenges companies may face in making a Neuro Diverse hiring program successful.

    Key Takeaways

    1. The buy-in for businesses is critical. We must show business value - reduced turnover, reduction in call outs, dedicated and loyal workforce.
    2. Having open and honest closed-door conversations with line supervisors is a key to success. It is critical to ensure that objections or fears are heard and discussed openly.
    3. Empowering employees through proper training, disability etiquette, and giving the opportunity to voice any concerns after the training is complete.

Former Denver Broncos Captain and All-Pro Linebacker Karl Mecklenburg rose from being a college walk-on and a 12th round draft pick to a pro career that included six Pro Bowl and three Super Bowl appearances. Considered the NFL’s most versatile player, Karl played all seven defensive front positions. Bronco coaches wanted him at the point of attack and would move him throughout the game. There were games where Mecklenburg played all seven positions in the course of a single game.

In 2001, Karl was inducted into the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame and the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame. Karl was a semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame for eight consecutive years.

Karl Mecklenburg, CSP, has earned the Certified Speaking Professional designation from the National Speaker’s Association. Less than 10% of the speakers who belong to the International Federation for Professional Speakers hold this professional designation. A much smaller percentage of celebrity speakers are CSPs, and Karl is presently the only football legend to have achieved Certified Speaking Professional designation. He enjoys speaking to a variety of groups, and his story is both humorous and inspirational. The lessons life in the NFL taught him about teamwork, courage, dedication, desire, honesty and forgiveness, and goal setting are his “Six Keys to Success”.

As a highly regarded speaker, Karl tailors his presentations to the needs of the group while teaching and inspiring his audience. His legendary NFL career draws many attendees to events, and the content and delivery of his presentation sends his audience home with a renewed commitment to their goals.

    Signature Workshop Event

From Burnout to Bliss: Transforming Your Internal Narrative

“Burnout is defined in two ways: “A state of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion caused by long-term involvement in emotionally demanding situations.” – Ayala Pines and Elliot Aronson.

“A state of fatigue or frustration brought about by devotion to a cause, way of life, or relationship that failed to produce the expected reward.” – Herbert J. Freudenberger.

Between them, these definitions embrace the essence of burnout, with the first stressing the part that exhaustion plays in it and the second focusing on the sense of disillusionment at its core. In this interactive webinar, Award Winning Leadership Coach & TEDx Speaker Kelly Meerbott will help you identify your symptoms and take action to mitigate the damaging effects burnout can have on your personal and professional life.

Hear more about this session and Kelly Meerbott here.

By participating in this webinar, attendees will learn:

    – How to Identify the Symptoms of Burnout

    – Practical tools to alleviate burnout

    – How to avoid burnout in the future

    Speaker:

    Kelly Meerbott

Kelly Meerbott is a respected thought leader, author, facilitator, TEDx speaker, and leadership coach to successful leaders. Early in her corporate career, Kelly found her calling to coaching and training while working for a Fortune 500 company.

Recognizing her natural aptitude for mentoring and educating others, she was given roles where she could have the most significant impact coaching her peers and supervisors. Her influence was felt across the organization, as company morale improved, politics disintegrated, and productivity soared. Revenues increased dramatically as formerly disgruntled clients and employees were converted to corporate supporters and advocates. In 2009, at the height of the recession, Ms.

Meerbott found herself caught up in a round of 30,000 layoffs — a defining moment in her career. As Kelly explored what was next, she hired a coach who subsequently changed her life. The support and guidance of a personal coach helped her realize her passion for helping others and desire to make it a career. More importantly, she recognized how impactful and life-changing a great coach can be. This is what inspires and motivates Kelly to share her talents and to make a difference in the world.

Kelly employs a unique and holistic approach to coaching, combining every facet of her client’s life and business in order to deliver a wholly fulfilling experience. By working in partnership with her clients, Kelly is able to assist them in clearing internal blockages so that creativity, inspiration, insight, and answers can flow and develop freely. Leading Change as an HR Professional

Change management is a concept that is incorporated into most major initiatives. But what does it really mean? Many organizations equate change management with good communication. The key to good change management, however, is buy-in, or the willingness of people to accept the change. In this webinar, we will look at how the HR professional can support change effectively through a change management model that can be applied at all levels of the organization, for all types of initiatives, and even personally!

    Speaker:

    Lorraine McCamley

Lorraine McCamley is an executive coach and consultant, and the owner of Boldly Quiet Consulting, where her focus is on helping people and organizations transform change into opportunity. Prior to launching Boldly Quiet, Lorraine spent over twenty years as a leader in financial services companies of various sizes and stages of maturity. Her business roles were generally “connector” roles, where her communication and collaboration as a leader were critical components of achieving her performance objectives.

Lorraine holds a Master of Science degree in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania, with dual certifications in Organizational Coaching and Leading and Managing Change. She is the author of “Boldly Quiet: The Introvert’s Guide to Developing the Mindset of a Successful Leader” and is co-founder of the Macrobiotic Global Institute, a non-profit dedicated to restoring personal and planetary health. Lorraine lives in Skippack, PA with her husband, 2 cats, sometimes a foreign exchange student, and, not frequently enough, her son who goes to university in The Netherlands!
