Do you really know how to write good assessment questions especially for multiple choice. Multiple choice may be the most used yet misunderstood method of assessment there is. Do you know how to check for reliability and validity, and have it match the purpose of the assessment?

Come to this session and get a blueprint for an assessment as well as learn how the question writing and reviewing process should work. Learn to create the Question Stem and then construct the Answer Choices.

This is a great session for anyone who needs to create assessments but has never been to formal training. We will also give an example of how this can be delivered in an authoring tool.

Presenter:

James Lehman, Ph.D., Sr. Measurement Scientist, brings over 25 years of experience in psychometric analysis and test development. He is facile with the contexts of for-profit and non-profit organizations as they relate to measurement and assessment in such areas as: item analysis, IRT calibration, test reliability & validity. He is experienced in all phases of assessment design & development as well as quasi-experimental research design. He has led many subject-matter-expert groups to help them achieve their goals.

James' work has been presented or published at the American Educational Research Association (AERA), the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME), the Journal of Educational Statistics, and Research in Higher Education.
