As talent development professionals, we believe we play a critical role in our organization. But what do our CEOs think? What role(s) do they want talent development to play? How do they see us as helping create a competitive advantage for the organization? What do they expect of their talent development leaders? And what do they want talent development professionals to know so they can have the positive impact desired?

This year we will not only focus on our role in talent development but also with regard the coronavirus pandemic.

Presenter:

Chris Marr has been Chief Executive Officer of CubeSmart since January 1, 2014. Previously, Mr. Marr served as President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Investment Officer of the Company, having assumed the President and Chief Investment Officer roles in 2008 and, additionally, the Chief Operating Officer role in May 2012. Mr. Marr joined the CubeSmart in 2006, serving as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer until November 2008. Prior to CubeSmart, Mr. Marr was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Brandywine Realty Trust, a publicly-traded office REIT, from August 2002 to June 2006. Prior to joining Brandywine Realty Trust, Mr. Marr served as Chief Financial Officer of Storage USA, Inc., a publicly traded self-storage REIT, from 1998 to 2002.

Kathleen Simone is the Senior Vice President and Controller of Tivity Health’s Nutrition Business Unit, joining the company in August 1988. Ms. Simone joined Nutrisystem almost 32 years ago as a staff accountant and has held additional management positions in the finance department. Ms. Simone has helped lead the company through several transitions from a brick and mortar business model to an internet-based company including directing Nutrisystem through bankruptcy proceedings, various restructurings and acquisitions. As the controller she helped manage Nutrisystem in a public offering. Her current responsibilities include accounting operations, SOX compliance, cash management and SEC reporting. Prior to joining NutriSystem, Ms. Simone spent the previous 2 years in public accounting.

Toni Pergolin is a highly regarded strategic leader with acute financial acumen who has successfully grown companies organically and through mergers and acquisitions. Currently serving as President and CEO of Bancroft, one of the largest human services providers in New Jersey and the Greater Philadelphia region, she has more than doubled the size of the company in ten years. Her ability to lead nonprofit organizations with a focus on delivering excellence with a healthy margin has resulted in a decade of profitable returns enabling reinvestment in the organization’s mission. In addition, Toni has been recognized and received numerous awards. Most recently she received the Women of Excellence Award for Business Excellence by SJ Magazine.
