Why do employees tell their leaders only the parts of the workplace story, even when they know much more needs to be told? When employees can’t speak up fully, they are deprived of the joy of true of engagement and meaningful work while the entire team experiences diminished capacity and the inability to innovate. This program is for leaders who need help figuring out how to make it safe to have difficult conversations and handle conflict, especially if they've felt betrayed when they've learned that a team member has talked about them to someone else.

  • Participants will be to articulate the concept of psychological safety and identify the indicators that it is lacking on their teams.
  • Participants will be able to explain the natural causes of conflict on teams and how leaders who don’t have an intentional approach to conflict management and transparency exacerbate those problems while also creating new ones.
  • Participants will learn two strategies and a technique that they can use again and again to facilitate difficult conversations and make effective conflict management a norm on their teams.
