Pre- Apprenticeships, Apprenticeships and the Public Workforce Systems are the best kept secret career development programs. We can assist our clients and students advance in career development and help our employers advance he skills of their employees. Registrants will be introduced Apprenticeships across industry sectors. It is not just for the trades! You will learn about how your clients and students can be served with Apprenticeships. Client and students will earn an industry credential! Using the Public Workforce System PA Careerlink® clients and students can reskill and upskill. Youth participants care afforded a wide variety of services from Paid Work to Internships and career cruising.

Presenters:

Doran Condon has been involved in Workforce Development for over 21 years providing guidance to Youth, Adult and Dislocated Worker programs. Doran currently is the Director of Workforce Initiatives at the Pennsylvania Workforce Development Association (PWDA) where he develops and provides professional training to local workforce development boards, while continuing proactive advocacy efforts on behalf of the workforce development system. Doran also serves as a volunteer for the Cumberland County Youth Aid Panel and is an avid genealogist. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Pennsylvania State University. LinkedIn.

John Tkatch, Executive Director, Keystone Development Partnership (KDP), has managed Pennsylvania Industry Partnership workforce development projects since 2005. John is currently working on several projects in concert with the Pennsylvania Apprenticeship and Training Office and the US Department of Labor’s Office of Apprenticeship to promote the acceleration and expansion of Registered Apprenticeship programs. John and his organization provide technical assistance to employers, unions, and other organizations to develop, register, and implement registered apprenticeship programs. KDP develops and manages workforce programs that help ensure businesses have the talent they need to thrive by bringing together employers, unions, training providers, industry associations, community-based organizations and public agencies to collaborate on initiatives that strengthen communities.

NCDA CEUs: You may register to earn 1.5 NCDA CEUs. You must attend the webinar live to receive the CEUs. CEUs are free for PACDA members; $10 for those who are not members of PACDA. NCDA is the National Career Development Association (www.ncda.org/). See https://ncda.org/aws/NCDA/pt/sp/credentialing for information on NCDA credentials and Continuing Education requirements.

Act 48 credit:

PACDA and PSCA members: After the event, complete the post-event survey, then email ceu@thepacda.org to obtain your certificate of attendance, which you can then submit via the PSCA website.

Not a PACDA or PSCA member?: You may be able to obtain Act 48 credit. After the event, complete the post-event survey, then email ceu@thepacda.org to obtain your certificate of attendance. Submit this to the Pennsylvania Department of Education via your local education agency, which will have the final say on whether this program qualifies for Act 48 credit. Or, you may submit via the Pennsylvania School Counselor Association for $10.
