ATD Philadelphia - Leadership & OD SIG: “L&D’s Role in a Strategic Approach to DE&I"

  • Wed, June 22, 2022
  • 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM
  • 151 S. Warner Road, Suite 100, Wayne, PA 19087 OR Virtual

Register at: https://www.tdphl.org/event-4737248

Description:

For the past couple of years there have been articles written on the lack of effectiveness of diversity training. Some of the reasons for this include treating such training as an event (a “check-the-box” approach), lack of integrating training with other systems (e.g., recruitment, onboarding, engagement, etc.) to support the goals, and thinking of ‘training’ rather than ‘learning’. As a result, time, money and effort are poured into a much-needed initiative with little results to show for it.

Come join us to hear from talent development leaders about how they approached DE&I “training” in a strategic, comprehensive, and integrated way. We will begin by hearing from Adrina Walker (Executive Director of Engagement Programs for Estée Lauder) about the commitment, support and involvement of senior leaders in their company. Then we will hear from Karen Basile (Chief Learning Officer for Johnson Controls) on their L&D strategy to make marked and measurable differences in DE&I initiatives.

We will have plenty of time for Q&A, as well as for you to network with your peers.

We hope to see you there.

Note: this program will be a hybrid event … in-person for 35 members or virtual for members and non-members.

Agenda: 5:30 – 8:00 pm

5:30 – 6:15 pm: Registration / Light Meal / Networking

6:15 – 6:30 pm: Announcements (virtual attendees are to connect via Zoom link)

6:30 – 8:00 pm: Program
