Description: 

This powerful training provides attendees with a comprehensive introduction to the issue of domestic violence and its impact on the workplace. We will begin by exploring the foundations of intimate partner abuse, including its definition, prevalence, and forms, followed by a discussion on the complex dynamics of abusive relationships. Next, participants will learn about the types of workplace “spillover” and its effects on employee victims, co-workers, and the business overall. Finally, our presentation examines workplace disclosures and "aligned support" tactics using “The 3 R’s” concept (Recognize, Respond, and Refer). This section guides attendees through the process of identifying, engaging with, and assisting employees experiencing domestic violence. We conclude with a series of final tips for working with victims of abuse and an audience Q & A session.

  • Understand the complex issue of domestic violence and explain how it's dynamics can keep victims in an ongoing cycle of abuse
  • List ways in which domestic violence "spillover" affects the workplace, impacting employees, their co-workers, and the organization overall
  • Develop a comprehensive strategy for identifying, engaging with, and supporting employees experiencing abuse
